Gaucher-like disease is not a specific medical condition but rather a categorization for diseases that exhibit similar symptoms, biochemical characteristics, or genetic mutations to Gaucher's disease. Gaucher's disease itself is caused by a deficiency in the enzyme glucocerebrosidase, leading to the accumulation of glucocerebroside in various organs and tissues.
