List of AM cannabinoids

AM cannabinoids are a series of chemical compounds that act on the cannabinoid receptors in the body. They were first synthesized by Alexandros Makriyannis, from whom they take their name. AM cannabinoids are designed to mimic the effects of natural cannabinoids in the body, such as anandamide and 2-AG, but often have much stronger effects.

History

The first AM cannabinoid, AM-2201, was synthesized in the late 1990s by Alexandros Makriyannis and his team at Northeastern University. Since then, many other AM cannabinoids have been developed, each with slightly different chemical structures and effects.

Chemistry

AM cannabinoids are typically indole derivatives, with a variety of substitutions at different positions on the indole ring. The most common substitutions are a naphthoyl group at the 1-position and a alkyl chain at the 3-position. Pharmacology
