Boldenone undecylenate is an anabolic steroid developed for veterinary use, mostly for treatment of horses. It is not indicated for use in humans in the United States and is only available through veterinary clinics.

History[edit]

Boldenone undecylenate was first synthesized in the 1950s by Ciba, a Swiss pharmaceutical company. It was developed as a long-acting injectable methandrostenolone (Dianabol), but in practice it does not have this effect.

Medical uses[edit]

Boldenone undecylenate is used in veterinary medicine, primarily in horses. It is used to improve physique and performance. The drug is also used in cattle to enhance growth.

Side effects[edit]

Like other anabolic steroids, boldenone undecylenate can have a number of side effects, including acne, hair loss, increased aggression, and gynecomastia. It can also have serious effects on the cardiovascular system, including hypertension and atherosclerosis.

Legal status[edit]

In the United States, boldenone undecylenate is classified as a Schedule III controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act. It is also banned by many sporting organizations, including the International Olympic Committee.
