Mymensingh is a city in Bangladesh located on the river Brahmaputra. It is the capital of the Mymensingh Division, one of the eight administrative divisions of Bangladesh, and was previously a district of the Dhaka Division. The city is known for its educational institutions, such as the Bangladesh Agricultural University, and its rich cultural heritage.

Mymensingh has a rich history dating back to the ancient period. The city was part of the ancient kingdom of Kamarupa, and later the Pala Empire. During the British colonial period, Mymensingh was an important administrative center.
