WikiProject

WikiProject (pronounced: /ˈwɪkiˌprɒdʒɛkt/) is a collaborative effort by contributors to create, improve, and manage content on a specific topic or family of topics on MediaWiki.

Etymology

The term "WikiProject" is a combination of the Hawaiian word "wiki", meaning quick, and the English word "project". It refers to a project undertaken on a wiki platform, such as MediaWiki.
