Telangana (pronunciation: tɪˈlʌŋɡɑːnə) is a state in southern India. It is not a medical term, but it is relevant to the field of public health and epidemiology due to its unique health challenges and initiatives.

Etymology

The term "Telangana" is thought to derive from the word "Trilinga", referring to the three ancient Shiva temples at Kaleshwaram, Srisailam, and Draksharamam. Over time, "Trilinga" became "Telangana".
