The San Diego Freeway is a major north-south Interstate Highway in Southern California, United States. It is officially known as Interstate 405 (I-405).

Etymology

The freeway is named after the city of San Diego, the second largest city in California. The name "San Diego" itself is of Spanish origin, named after Saint Didacus of Alcalá (San Diego de Alcalá in Spanish).
