Philips Respironics (/ˈfɪlɪps rɛspɪˈrɒnɪks/) is a global leader in the sleep and respiratory markets, and a division of Philips, a Dutch multinational conglomerate corporation.

Etymology

The name "Philips Respironics" is a combination of the parent company's name, "Philips", and "Respironics", a company specializing in respiratory products that Philips acquired in 2007.

History

Philips Respironics was originally known as Respironics, Inc. before it was acquired by Philips in 2007. Respironics, Inc. was a medical supply company that specialized in products for treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), including CPAP machines.

Products

Philips Respironics manufactures a wide range of medical devices and products, including CPAP machines, BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and sleep apnea diagnostic tools.

CPAP Machines

CPAP machines (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machines) are one of the most common treatments for sleep apnea. Philips Respironics is known for their DreamStation line of CPAP machines.

BiPAP Machines

BiPAP machines (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure machines) are used for more severe cases of sleep apnea. Philips Respironics produces the DreamStation BiPAP machines.

Nebulizers
