Nutrition - (pronounced) (noo-TRIH-avoid) The absorption and use of food and other nutrients by the body. Nutrition is a 3 part process. First you eat or drink. Second, the body breaks down food or drink into nutrients. Third, the nutrients travel through the bloodstream to various parts of the body where they are used for "fuel" and many other purposes. In order to properly nourish the body, a person must eat and drink enough of the foods that contain essential nutrients
