NOMESCO

NOMESCO (pronounced: /noʊˈmɛskoʊ/) is an acronym for the Nordic Medico-Statistical COmmittee, a body that coordinates health statistics in the Nordic countries.

Etymology

The term "NOMESCO" is derived from the first letters of the Nordic Medico-Statistical Committee's name. The committee was established in 1966 to create a basis for comparable medical statistics in the Nordic countries.
