MLN1202 - A substance being studied for the treatment of atherosclerosis (a build-up of fat in the arteries). It is also being studied in the treatment of cancer that has spread to the bones. MLN1202 attaches to a protein called CCR2, which is found on the surface of certain bone cells, white blood cells, and cancer cells. MLN1202 blocks the action of a substance involved in maintaining healthy bone mass. It can help prevent cancer cells from spreading to the bone and growing there. It's a type of monoclonal antibody.
