Symptoms can include hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, trouble sleeping, mood swings, and bone loss. MHT is given to replace the natural hormones that are no longer made by the body. It is given to women who have gone through the menopause or who have a premature menopause because of cancer treatment or surgery to remove their ovaries. Also called menopausal hormone therapy
