Interpersonal Communication

Interpersonal communication (pronunciation: /ˌɪntərˈpɜːrsənəl kəˌmjuːnɪˈkeɪʃən/) is the process by which people exchange information, feelings, and meaning through verbal and non-verbal messages. It is face-to-face communication.

Etymology

The term "interpersonal" is derived from the prefix "inter-" meaning "between" and "personal" referring to individuals. "Communication" comes from the Latin word "communicare" which means "to share".
