Instructive (/ɪnˈstrʌktɪv/), from the Latin instructus, past participle of instruere meaning "to build, to arrange, to prepare", is an adjective that describes something providing useful or interesting information.

In a medical context, an instructive process or piece of information teaches or informs, often in a way that improves knowledge or understanding. It is often used to describe medical literature, procedures, or patient education materials that provide valuable information to healthcare professionals, students, or patients.
