Institute of Medicine, Nepal

The Institute of Medicine, Nepal (IOM, Nepal) is a premier medical education institution in Nepal. It is a part of Tribhuvan University and is located in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.

Overview

The Institute of Medicine, Nepal was established in 1972 under Tribhuvan University with the mandate and the responsibility of training all the categories of health manpower needed in the country. The initial focus of IOM was to train middle-level health workers. The first batch of 40 Nursing students and 30 Public Health students was admitted in 1972.
