In medicine, breathing hyperbaric oxygen increases the amount of oxygen in the body. It is used to treat certain types of wounds, injuries, and infections. It's also used to treat carbon monoxide poisoning and other conditions where tissues don't get enough oxygen. It is being studied to treat some types of cancer. Hyperbaric oxygen can increase the amount of oxygen in cancer cells, making them easier to kill with radiation therapy and chemotherapy. It is a type of radiosensitizer and a type of chemosensitizer
