Genetic Alliance UK (Template:IPA-en) is a national charity of over 200 patient organisations supporting all those affected by genetic conditions in the United Kingdom.

Etymology

The term "Genetic Alliance UK" is derived from the organization's focus on genetic conditions and its location in the United Kingdom.

History

Genetic Alliance UK was established in 1989 under the name 'Confederation of British Industry for Genetic Disorders' (CBI). It was later renamed to 'Genetic Interest Group' (GIG) before finally becoming Genetic Alliance UK in 2010.

Mission

The mission of Genetic Alliance UK is to promote awareness and understanding of genetic conditions and improve the quality of services and support for patients and their families.
