Short definitiongadopentetate dimeglumine (GA-doh-PEN-teh-tayt dy-MEG-loo-meen) A substance used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to produce clear images of the brain, the spine, the heart, the soft tissues of the joints and the inside of the bones. Gadopentetate dimeglumine is being studied to diagnose cancer.
