Carvykti - (pronounced) (Auto VIK Tea) drug used to treat adults with multiple myeloma that has come back or failed to improve after treatment with at least four other cancer therapies, including a proteasome inhibitor, an immunomodulatory agent and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody. Carvykti is made using a patient's T cells (a type of cell in the immune system). A gene for a special receptor called the chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) is added to the T cells in the laboratory. Large numbers of these modified T cells, known as CAR T cells, are cultivated in the laboratory and given to the patient by infusion. Carvykti attaches to a protein called BCMA, which is found on myeloma cells and some types of immune cells. This helps the body's immune system kill cancer cells. Carvykti is a form of CAR T cell therapy. Also called ciltacabtagene autoleucel
