Angeles University Foundation

Angeles University Foundation (pronunciation: an-he-les yoo-ni-ver-si-tee foun-day-shun) is a private, non-profit educational institution located in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. It was established in 1962 by Dr. Barbara Yap-Angeles and her husband, Mr. Agustin P. Angeles.

Etymology

The name "Angeles University Foundation" is derived from the founders' surname, "Angeles", and the English words "University" and "Foundation". The term "University" (from the Latin universitas magistrorum et scholarium, meaning "community of teachers and scholars") refers to an institution of higher (or tertiary) education and research which awards academic degrees in various academic disciplines.
