A.T. Still University (ATSU) is a private, non-profit university founded in 1892 by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the founder of osteopathic medicine. The university is based in Kirksville, Missouri, with additional campuses in Arizona.

History

A.T. Still University was established as the first college of osteopathic medicine by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still in 1892. Dr. Still was dissatisfied with the effectiveness of 19th-century medicine and believed that many of the medications of his day were useless or even harmful. He developed a philosophy of medicine that emphasized the body's innate ability to heal itself and promoted a focus on disease prevention and wellness. His ideas formed the basis of osteopathic medicine.

Campuses

ATSU has two campuses: one in Kirksville, Missouri, and the other in Mesa, Arizona. The Kirksville campus is home to the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, the first college of osteopathic medicine. The Mesa campus is home to the Arizona School of Health Sciences, the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, and the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health.
