UCLA (pronounced "you-see-ell-ay") is an acronym for the University of California, Los Angeles. It is a public research university located in the Westwood district of Los Angeles, California, United States.
Etymology
The name "UCLA" is derived from its parent institution, the University of California system, and its location in Los Angeles. The "LA" in UCLA stands for Los Angeles, the city where the university is located.
