San Antonio
San Antonio is the second-most populous city in the state of Texas, United States, and the seventh-most populous city in the country. It is the county seat of Bexar County. The city is known for its rich colonial heritage and is a major city in the southwestern United States.

San Antonio was founded on May 1, 1718, by Spanish settlers who established the Mission San Antonio de Valero, later known as the Alamo. The city was named after Saint Anthony of Padua. San Antonio played a significant role in the Texas Revolution, particularly during the Battle of the Alamo in 1836.
Geography[edit]
San Antonio is located in south-central Texas, approximately 80 miles southwest of Austin. The city covers an area of 465.4 square miles and is situated on the Balcones Escarpment. The San Antonio River flows through the city, providing a scenic backdrop for many of its attractions.
