Onychodystrophy - (pronounced) (ON-ih-koh-DIS-truh fee) Abnormal changes in the shape, color, texture, and growth of fingernails or toenails. Onychodystrophy is often caused by an infection or injury to the nail. It can also be caused by certain medical conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, warts, cysts, and some tumors. Changes in the nails can also be a sign of chronic heart, lung, liver or kidney disease. Treatment with certain medications, including chemotherapy drugs, can also cause nail changes. Also called nail dystrophy
