Nutritional Science (pronunciation: /njuːˈtrɪʃənəl ˈsaɪəns/) is a multidisciplinary field that combines the study of nutrition, biology, chemistry, and medicine to understand how the body uses nutrients and how diet affects health and disease.

The term "Nutritional Science" is derived from the Latin word "nutrire," which means "to nourish," and the Greek word "σκιέν," which means "knowledge."
