Mystical is an adjective that refers to the spiritual or esoteric; relating to mysteries or hidden symbolic meanings that transcend ordinary human understanding. It is often associated with the spiritual, religious, and philosophical traditions that aim at direct experience of the divine, the transcendent, or the ultimate reality.
Etymology
The term "mystical" is derived from the Greek word "mystikos," which means "secret, mystic, connected with the mysteries." The Greek word "mystērion" is also related, meaning "secret rite or doctrine."
