Description

Ball-and-stick model of a (PhLi)n chain, as found in the crystal structure of phenyllithium.

Colour code:

  • Carbon, C: grey
  • Hydrogen, H: white
  • Lithium, Li: lilac

Structure (determined by X-ray powder diffraction) from J. Am. Chem. Soc. (1998) 120, 1430–1433 (PUDLUV).
