IT was when the family fortunes needed a little first aid that Norma Shearer left her native Montreal for New York and a career in motion pictures. In "Broadway After Dark" she came to the foreground and there she has remained. She made her talkie debut in, "A Lady of Chance," which was followed by sensational acting in "The Trial of Mary Dugan." Norma was born August 10, 1904, is 5 Feet 3, weighs 112 and has brown hair and blue eyes. She was married to Irving Thalberg, film executive, in 1927.
