Summary
DescriptionNRK1 and NRK2 mediated biosynthesis pathway from NR to NAD+.png
English: NRK1/2 mediated NAD+ biosynthesis pathway from Nicotinamide riboside (NR). NR is metabolised by nicotinamide riboside kinase (NRK1/2) to form nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) which is then converted to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) through the activity of NMN-adenylyltransferase (NMNAT). This image was created with freely available chemical structure images for NR, NMN and NADP+ from Wikimedia Commons. The chemical pathway is based on Figure 2 of https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6145238/
