彩箋墨書 21.1×15.5 平安時代・12世紀 東京国立博物館 B-2814
平安時代に書写された『古今和歌集』は30数種が現存しているが、仮名序と20巻すべてが完全にそろったものとしては最古の写本である。上下2帖の冊子本で、上巻巻末の奥書に元永3年（1120）とあることから、「元永本」と呼ばれる。 紫、赤、緑、黄、茶、白などの色を染めた地に、唐草、七宝（しっぽう）、菱文、亀甲などの中国風の型文様を雲母（きら）で刷り出し、さらにその上に金銀の切箔や砂子をまいた華麗な紙を用いる。紙背にも、金銀の切箔や砂子がまかれる。書は、1首を2～3行書き、あるいは散らし書きとし、仮名に漢字を交じえ、紙の装飾に応じて字の太さも変えるなど技巧を凝らしており、国文学、書道史上の優品である。和様の書を完成した藤原行成（ふじわらのゆきなり）の曾孫、藤原定実（さだざね）の筆と推定される。 尾張徳川家、加賀前田家を経て三井家に伝来した。 Original textNotice that this preface was written in a early form of kana form right to left. Namely, there's many old hentaigana originated from cursive chinese characters. For clarity, The corresponding modern hiragana will be indicated just behind the old one. Additionally, in the 12th century, there's not explicit way to mark voicing, so voicing diacritic will be dropped completely in the following transcript.

"〱" is just a old iteration mark denoting the repetition of the previous kana. The Kanji "哥" is the simplified(or wrong) form of "歌". Modern transliterationTransliterating hentaigana into hiragana:
