Provenance:

  • Recorded in the posthumous inventory of the collection in Antwerp of Herman de Neyt (1642), artist and dealer.
  • (Perhaps) M. Simons, Amsterdam, c. 1771, according to Mols who recorded the picture as that engraved by C. Galle (see below) and measuring c. 7 pieds (= c. 220cm.) in width.
  • Bequeathed to Stonyhurst College by W.T.B. Lund in 1891.
