Observe:
1. The continuity of Transversus Thoracis with Transversus Abdominis, these being the inner-
most layer of the three muscles of the thoraco-abdominal wall.
2. The internal thoracic artery, arising from the first part of the subclavian artery, accom-
panied by two veins (venae comitantes) up to the 3rd or 2nd intercostal space and above
this by a single vein (internal thoracic vein), which proceeds to the brachio-cephalic vein.
3. The lower portions of the internal thoracic vessels, covered posteriorly with Transversus
Thoracis; the upper portions in contact with parietal pleura (removed).
