Description
English: View of nitrogen fertilizer being applied to growing corn (maize) in a contoured, no-tilled field in Hardin County, Iowa. Applying smaller amounts of nitrogen several times over the growing season rather than all at once at or before planting helps the plants use the nitrogen rather than have it enter adjacent streams (i.e. create nonpoint source pollution.)
