Summary
DescriptionEuryzygomatomyinae GHR AA.svg
English: Multiple sequence alignment of the growth hormone receptor (GHR) protein for Echimyidae, Capromyidae and outgroup rodents. Note: this alignment is best viewed in the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format.
All GHR protein sequences are written with respect to the first one (Echimys chrysurus, NCBI accession AGE92351.1), conventionally taken as a reference. Identical amino acid residues are indicated by a dash '-', gaps by a star '*', and missing information by a question mark '?'. Sites of the alignment are numbered according to the human GHR protein (NCBI accession AAI36497.1).
The yellow rectangle on position 294 emphasizes the amino acid replacement of L (Leucine) by P (Proline, in red) which yields a diagnostic synapomorphy characterizing the subfamily Euryzygomatomyinae (in blue, genera Trinomys, Euryzygomatomys, and Clyomys).[1]
