Summary
DescriptionDiscovery of Uranus1781.png
English: Position of the planet Uranus on the day of its "official" discovery, March 13th, 1781.
The planet Uranus is marked on the star map with a cross together with is its astronomical symbol.
The ecliptic and some important right ascension and declination lines are also shown on the star map. As right ascension and declination of this map refer to the epoch 1781, the shown right acension and declination lines differ from the corresponding lines used on nearly all modern star maps.
This astronomy image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}. It is recommended to name the SVG file “Discovery of Uranus1781.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
