Summary

Description
English: Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano (northwestern Wyoming, USA). Depression Geyser is located 67 meters northwest of Beehive Geyser in the southwestern Geyser Hill Group of Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. The vent is located in a small topographic depression - the inspiration for the name. Eruptions range from low energetic roiling and low bursting to a series of moderate-sized bursts. Before eruptions, Depression experiences repeated episodes of overflow, followed by a lowering of the pool’s water level. Heavy overflow immediately precedes eruptive activity. After an eruption, which lasts between 3 and 10 minutes, the pool’s water level drops significantly. In 2015, eruption intervals of 4 to 7 hours have generally been reported for this geyser.
