Berlin- Letzte Kopftransplantation des sowjetischen Physiologen Demichow in der DDR,
Der international bekannte Physiologe Vladimir Demichow, Leiter des Laboratriums für Organtransplantationen des ersten Medizinischen Instituts Moskau, der sich zur Zeit in einem zirka dreiwöchigen Besuch in der DDR aufhält, führte am 13.1.1959 die letzte in der DDR gezeigte Kopftransplantation durch, die ebenso wie alle bisher in Berlin und Leipzig durchgeführten Herz-Gefäß- und Kopftransplantationen erfolgreich verlief.
Mit dem geglückten Experiment demonstriert der sowjetische Gast erneut vor seinen Fachkollegen, unter denen sich namhafte Mediziner der DDR, wie Prof. Dr. Brugsch, Leiter der I. Medizinischen Klinik der Poliklinik der Charite; Prof. Dr. Zetkin und Prof. Dr. Baumann, Leiter des Forschungsinstituts für cortico-viscerale Therapie und Pathologie der Deutschen Akademie der Wissenschaften, befanden, die Leistungsfähigkeit des sowjetischen Gefäßnähgeräts , das in der Fachwelt als "Sputnik der Chirurgie" bezeichnet wird.

UBz.: Nach Beendigung der Kopftransplantation. Bei beiden Köpfen sind Elektronen eingelegt (Verband) zwecks Durchführung Elektronenzephalographischer Untersuchung.
