Data Management (pronunciation: /ˈdeɪtə mænɪdʒmənt/) is the process of ingesting, storing, organizing and maintaining the data created and collected by an organization. It is a crucial practice for effective business operations and decision-making.
Etymology
The term "Data Management" is derived from the English words "data", which is a plural of "datum" (Latin for "something given") and "management", which comes from the Italian "maneggiare" (to handle), particularly in the sense of control or administration.
