Career Counseling (pronunciation: /kəˈrɪər ˈkaʊnsəlɪŋ/), also known as career guidance, is a process that will help you to know and understand yourself and the world of work in order to make career, educational, and life decisions.

Etymology

The term Career Counseling is derived from the Latin word "carrus" which means a chariot and the Old French word "counsel" which means advice. The term was first used in the early 20th century to refer to the process of helping individuals choose, change, or leave careers.
