Suzanne O'Sullivan is a renowned neurologist and author, best known for her work in the field of psychosomatic disorders. She has been awarded the Wellcome Book Prize for her book, "It's All in Your Head".

Early Life and Education[edit]

Suzanne O'Sullivan was born and raised in Ireland. She completed her medical education at Trinity College, Dublin, where she specialized in neurology.

Career[edit]

After completing her education, O'Sullivan moved to London, where she began her career as a neurologist. She has worked at some of the most prestigious hospitals in the city, including The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and The Royal London Hospital.

O'Sullivan's work primarily focuses on patients who suffer from severe physical symptoms that cannot be explained by medical testing. These conditions, known as psychosomatic disorders, are often dismissed as being "all in the head", but O'Sullivan's work has shown that they are very real and can have a significant impact on a person's quality of life.

In addition to her work as a neurologist, O'Sullivan is also a successful author. Her first book, "It's All in Your Head", won the Wellcome Book Prize in 2016. The book explores the world of psychosomatic disorders, using case studies from O'Sullivan's own patients to illustrate the reality of these conditions.

Awards and Recognition[edit]

In 2016, O'Sullivan was awarded the Wellcome Book Prize for "It's All in Your Head". The book was praised for its compassionate and insightful look at psychosomatic disorders.
