WinPepi is a suite of epidemiology and biostatistics programs that are designed for use in public health and biomedical research. The software was developed by Joseph Abramson, a professor of epidemiology at the Bar Ilan University in Israel.

Overview[edit]

WinPepi is a Windows-based software package that includes a variety of statistical tools for epidemiologists and researchers. The software is free to use and can be downloaded from the internet. It includes modules for descriptive statistics, analytic statistics, power and sample size calculations, and meta-analysis.

Features[edit]

WinPepi includes a wide range of features that are useful for epidemiological research. These include:

  • Descriptive statistics: This includes measures of central tendency and dispersion, as well as frequency distributions and cross-tabulations.
  • Analytic statistics: This includes tests of significance, measures of association, and regression analysis.
  • Power and sample size calculations: This allows researchers to determine the sample size needed to detect a specified effect size with a specified level of power.
  • Meta-analysis: This allows researchers to combine the results of multiple studies to produce a single estimate of effect.

Usage[edit]

WinPepi is used by researchers in a variety of fields, including public health, biomedical research, and epidemiology. It is particularly useful for researchers who need to perform complex statistical analyses but do not have access to more expensive statistical software packages.
