Paul M. Fleiss

Paul M. Fleiss (1933 – 2014) was an American pediatrician and author known for his unconventional medical views and for being the father of Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss.

Early life and education[edit]

Fleiss was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1933. He received his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1966.

Career[edit]

Fleiss opened a pediatric practice in Los Feliz, Los Angeles, California in 1967. He was known for his unconventional views on medical issues such as vaccination, breastfeeding, and circumcision. He was a vocal critic of routine circumcision and wrote a book on the subject, Sweet Dreams: A Pediatrician's Secrets for Baby's Good Night's Sleep.

In 1995, Fleiss was indicted for aiding and abetting his daughter's prostitution ring by laundering money and lying to investigators. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years probation and 625 hours of community service.

Personal life and death[edit]

Fleiss was the father of six children, including Heidi Fleiss, the "Hollywood Madam". He died in 2014 at the age of 80.
