John Weir (physician)
Sir John Weir GCVO (19 October 1879 – 17 April 1971) was a Scottish physician and homeopath who served as Physician Royal to several British monarchs throughout the twentieth century. His career spanned over 50 years, and he was a prominent figure in the field of homeopathy during that time.

Sir John Weir was born on 19 October 1879 in Scotland. He pursued his medical education in his home country, studying at various institutions and obtaining qualifications as a physician.
Career[edit]
After completing his education, Weir dedicated himself to the practice of homeopathy, a form of alternative medicine that uses highly diluted substances to treat various ailments. He became a prominent figure in the field and was well-known for his expertise in homeopathic treatments.
In 1918, Weir was appointed as Physician Royal to King George V and continued to serve in this capacity for subsequent monarchs, including King Edward VIII, King George VI, and Queen Elizabeth II. He was one of the few physicians who served multiple monarchs in this capacity, and his long tenure as Physician Royal was a testament to his skill and reputation.
Throughout his career, Weir was an advocate for homeopathy and sought to integrate it into mainstream medicine. He was involved in various professional organizations related to homeopathy and served in leadership roles to promote the practice.
