Anterior chamber paracentesis is a medical procedure that is used to remove excess fluid from the front chamber of the eye, known as the anterior chamber. This procedure is typically performed when there is a build-up of fluid in the anterior chamber due to conditions such as uveitis, glaucoma, or trauma. During the procedure, a needle is inserted into the eye through the cornea, and the excess fluid is removed. The procedure is generally considered safe and is often used as a first-line treatment for certain types of glaucoma.
