History[edit]
DePuy was founded in 1895 by Revra DePuy in Warsaw, Indiana. The company initially focused on manufacturing fiber splints to set fractures. Over the years, DePuy expanded its product line to include a wide range of orthopedic devices.
In 1998, DePuy was acquired by Johnson & Johnson, further expanding its reach and capabilities in the medical device industry. In 2012, DePuy merged with Synthes, a Swiss company known for its trauma products, to form DePuy Synthes.
