Chilean-Swedish professor and human rights advocate


Marcello Ferrada de Noli is a Chilean-Swedish professor known for his work in social medicine, epidemiology, and human rights advocacy. Following the 1973 Chilean coup d'état, Ferrada de Noli was imprisoned on Quiriquina Island, a fate shared by many political dissidents of the time.

Academic Career[edit]

After his release, Ferrada de Noli went into exile in Sweden, where he continued his academic pursuits. He became a professor at the Karolinska Institutet, one of the leading medical universities in the world, where he contributed to research in social medicine and epidemiology.
