Miriam Stoppard is a prominent medical doctor, author, and television presenter who has made significant contributions to the field of healthcare and medicine. She was born on May 12, 1937, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Stoppard was born as Miriam Lillian Frankel to a Jewish family in Newcastle upon Tyne. She attended the Newcastle University Medical School where she received her medical degree.
