Covid-Organics

Covid-Organics is a herbal concoction that was introduced by the Malagasy government as a cure for COVID-19. The drink is derived from Artemisia annua, also known as sweet wormwood, and other indigenous herbs. Despite its promotion by the Malagasy government, the efficacy and safety of Covid-Organics have been questioned by health organizations worldwide.

History

Covid-Organics was launched in April 2020 by President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar. The president claimed that the herbal tea could prevent and cure patients suffering from COVID-19. The drink was developed by the Malagasy Institute of Applied Research (IMRA).

Composition

The primary ingredient of Covid-Organics is Artemisia annua, a plant with proven efficacy against malaria. The drink also contains other medicinal herbs native to Madagascar. The exact composition and ratio of the ingredients remain undisclosed.

Efficacy and Criticism

While the Malagasy government claims that Covid-Organics can prevent and cure COVID-19, these claims have not been scientifically validated. The WHO and the Africa CDC have expressed concerns about the safety and efficacy of the herbal tea. They have urged the Malagasy government to conduct clinical trials in accordance with international standards.
