Home economics

Home economics is a field of study that involves the management of the home and community, including consumer education, institutional management, interior design, home furnishing, cleaning, handicrafts, sewing, clothing and textiles, commercial cooking, cooking, nutrition, food preservation, hygiene, child development, managing money, and family relationships. History

The field of home economics was formed in the early 20th century, as a way to train women to manage their households. It was also intended to provide a scientific approach to the management of the home, and to elevate the social status of the homemaker.
