The University of the Philippines Diliman (UP Diliman) is a coeducational, public research university located in Quezon City, Philippines. It is the flagship campus and the largest constituent university of the University of the Philippines System.

History[edit]

The University of the Philippines was established on June 18, 1908, through Act No. 1870 of the First Philippine Legislature. UP Diliman was created as a result of the reorganization of the university in 1949, when the main campus was transferred from Manila to Diliman, Quezon City. The transfer was part of a broader plan to expand the university's facilities and accommodate a growing student population.

UP Diliman is situated on a 493-hectare campus in Quezon City. The campus is known for its lush greenery and iconic landmarks such as the Oblation statue, the Carillon Tower, and the Sunken Garden.
